“Several studies have been conducted to find out what specific emotions make any person want to watch and share a video, which means the video might go viral as a result”(Francios, 2020). This includes a portion of engagement strategies from week two of a month-long semester’s resource articles. (You may see this in the further reading page under the article directly.) This was the downfall of any fun to be had looking at popular memes and lost media on YouTube, best to just save the tab on ‘The engagement strategies I will be utilizing for my five piece advice column are as requested via rubric: do not take yourself too seriously, keep your message consistent, stick to a script, time management, and keep your audience wondering what will happen next. ‘We already covered that?’ But everyone knows the only way to be sociable, and a good networker is to parrot your peers, only to be ridiculed later for poor performance rather than poor attention to detail and deadlines. "It's an experience. Not just information.” (Victor, 2021)
Choose at least five strategies you will apply to the designs of your Advice Media Piece that will intentionally engage your target audience. It was a good thing to butter your target audience up with a brief sociology lesson rather than getting into why someone would want to work in marketing and storytelling with this degree program. The first strategy is asking questions, the second strategy is crafting a unique concept, the third strategy is personalized communication, the fourth strategy is using social proof, and the fifth strategy is authenticity. This is boring, and I'm tired of repeatedly turning cookie-cutter work to boost the ego of an assigned target audience. You have lost your audience, I have lost my patience, and no one will read our work. (How are you vetting your sources without Pro-B.S) This is meant to be on a portfolio for future job, not something you do when you burn out on redesigning your house or even applications for your next retail job so you can afford to maybe take seven days off a year to write you next novel as your ‘big break’ Why waste time telling someone what words mean, which feelings, when you can simply tell them how you felt while writing and reviewing the media? To clarify what engagement strategies you used in your design choices. And to despise pecuniary reward, I used the previously researched articles from the above feedback. This is because it forms the basis of each lecture note, allowing time to be fully engaged and active without constantly flipping between the screen and the professor or a peer, as instructed to shut off the laptop and put the phone down. What would you rather I take notes on? My phone or the loose-leaf piece of paper you provided, then collected?
How are each of the listed strategies being used in your advice media piece? This is how relevance is due to how things are marketed. Things are supposed to be short and quick; thinking about a lot of bullet points is, in fact, not going to be the best strategy. You do get time to see between the stock images and memes. But that’s because you need time to process the ideas in front of you, rather than a portion of a monologue. How are you going to make money while in college? How are you going to explain to the school board this change in your attendance? Why would each of the strategies be effective at engaging the audience? “Storytelling is proven by neuroscience to be the most effective way to grab attention, resonate with people, and sear your brand into your audience’s memory.”(Jonson,2025) Copy-pasting something from ChatGPT isn’t enough; you have to explain why this reasoning outmatched your own, without being lazy enough to just… not finish deadlines on time. The reason the call to action is a block of text with all capital letters is that Gen Z, I’m advising (the majority of new and not returning students), have an easier time with text that breaks up a monotony of pattern, the lectures in the first week, the required seminar, and the pen and paper speech. The ‘you belong here’ is said every five minutes during the first two to three weeks. Not to exaggerate, but this art “career college” school has a 100% acceptance rate and no dorm rooms or a stable housing plan other than ‘Google it’. There are no options besides quitting or a gap year to secure an actual living, not to mention. You also need questions to keep the left-brained group feeling included. Authenticity with telling them things are not going to be easy, and disaster can strike at any moment, is valuable advice. Pretty pictures of unemployment statistics for college students are going to fit well with the right-brained audience. Why should we go to this school? We need money. Why do you not recognize that your results are a lesson plan because school is your career? You can and probably should fail a student who does not pass expectation, the career you are training them for is results per week, per further review of the group, not to advertise how and when it is going to be the best choice ever to attend Full Sail University. “In the digital age personalization goes a long way in creating reader engagement. When you address your audience by name or respond to their comments and queries, you make them feel valued.” (Matthews, 2025)
